■たしか水曜日あたりに逝報を聞いてはいたが、今日のニューヨークタイムズにパイクの記事が載っていて、再び思い出した。僕が大学院二年生のころ大学で「先端フォーラム」（一年かけて芸大先端科の教員が全員関わり、一つのテーマをめぐりディスカッションを重ねる）という授業のティーチングアシスタントをしていて、その年は「ナム・ジュン・パイクと岡本太郎」というのがテーマで、毎回そのディスカッションの資料準備と司会をしていた。その時、パイクという人に個人的な思い入れはあまりなく、それは今も変わらないのだが、改めてまた何か考える日が来るのかもしれないと、ふと思う。ロベルタ・スミスの記事にも特別な思い入れが感じられず、今、パイクを扱う事の難しさが、何かしらあるのかもしれない。

Though I heard the news on Wednesday, there is the news about the passing of Nam June Pike in the New York Times, and it reminded me that again. As a graduate student, I was also a? teaching assistant of the class which all professors involve and discuss on a theme throughout the year. The theme was "Taro Okamoto and Nam June Pike" and I was pressed with the preparation and taking the chair at the meetings. At the time, I'm not so interested in Pike personally, and even now. The article of Roberta Smith is also likely to lack the intensity and I wondered if these are some reasons of the difficulty talking about this artist.
