新作

１１月のヴォイスギャラリーでの個展のため、新作の制作を開始している。とりあえず二年ほど続けてきている鏡の作品ではなく、全く違ったものに挑戦してみている。何と言うか僕は根本的に飽き症なので、あまり同じことを延々とやっているとシラケてくるというか、ともかく他のことがしたいなあ、という気になってくる。一応、絵画ということにすると思うのだけれど、現実的にはいわゆる絵画じゃなくて、まあ平たいから絵画ということで、みたいな感じ。

これまで「消すこと」、あるいはイメージが「見えないこと」をめぐっていろいろ取り組んできたのだけれど、今回は全く逆のアプローチで、イメージの「可視性」つまり「見えること」に、制作を通じて接近したいと考えている（たとえば若冲のイメージのような）。鏡の作品と比べると不純物がかなり多くなるのかもしれないなあ、と思わなくもないけれど、ともかくも、新たな作品、新たな素材と向き合うのはスリリングです。

これまで良くも悪くも（まあ良くないか）、いわゆる絵画と呼ばれるジャンルにおける真っ当な形態を回避しつつ、絵画の問題を考えるという、ひどく回りくどいことをしているのだけれど、今回も気付けばそういうところを巡っているのだなあ、と思う。

I started to make new works for the solo exhibition held in November at Voice Gallery. they're not the morror works that I've been making for about two years, but I'm struggling to go ahead with a completely defferent one. I'm originally fickle so if I do same thing all the time, I'm easily get bored and think to do something else. I want to regard it as painting but actually (or materially) it's not so called "painting," it just relatively flat.

Although so far I've tackled problematic of "erasing" or "invisibility" of image, this time, as a totally opposite manner, I'm thinking to approach to "visibility" of image (for example, like image of Jakuchu). Compare to the mirror works, there might be lots of impure elements, anyway dealing with new work, new material is quite thrilling.

For better or worse (maybe it's worse though), while avoiding the basic form in a genre of so called painting, I've thought problem of painting. I realized that the new work is also around this sphere.
